Applications are open for the first-ever Lanterman House Junior Docent program!

Space is limited in the program, so please apply ASAP if interested. Applications will close on February 5 at 9pm (or earlier if the program fills).

This program is open to current 7th-9th grade students who live or go to school in the 91011 zip code. Space limited so please submit the form asap in order to be considered for the program.

Junior Docents will attend three 90 minute training sessions learn about the history of the Lanterman family, the house, and their community. The training sessions are scheduled for Sunday, February 18th; March 3rd and April 21st from 12:30 to 2pm.  Attendance at all three training sessions is mandatory.

Junior Docents, once trained, will assist at three community events during the year - the PTA Home Tour (April 26, 2024) and the Summer Picnic in May (May 26, 2024) and our Holiday Open House (December 15, 2024).  

Junior Docents will be invited to help with a wide variety of activities associated with a particular event. A Junior Docent may be invited to be the docent for a room in the house sharing all of its features with our guests. Junior docents are also needed to welcome guests or assist with activities arranged for each event. 

Junior Docents are asked to make a commitment of 10 hours of volunteer time (including training), but may do more depending on interest and time. The Lanterman House is happy to sign off on volunteer/service hours for school requirements.
